[name of interested client],
I received your message inquiring about my experience with Master Editor’s audio engineering course. I can definitely confirm that I was his student not quite two years ago.
I was interested in learning the freeware, Audacity. And after various upgrades, I’m still using Audacity to this day (although, I think Adobe’s audio program is his personal favorite).
There were a number of times I emailed him questions and he always responded promptly and professionally.
That includes a few questions that arose long after my graduation when a new version of Audacity created a low noise floor problem I had not experienced before. His quick reply and thoughtful suggestions helped me solve my problem.
One of his services during my course, which I believe he may still maintain, was to have the student send him a raw, unprocessed audio sample which he then analyzes to create a custom macro (a chain of linked commands executed with a single click).
I still use that custom macro as part of my process to get my tracks to meet the ACX audio submission standards. I have completed 62 audiobook and have never failed an ACX final review – a fact I credit to what I learned in Master Editor’s course.
When my first title went on sale in April of 2025, I wrote quite a glowing testimonial that I genuinely felt he deserved. And earlier this year, when ACX awarded me the designation of AAP, ACX Approved Producer, I sent him another, unsolicited and heartfelt thank you.
I wish you the best of luck as an ACX narrator. Oral storytelling is literally humanity’s first artform, so you are part of a proud and ancient tradition. And now that we have met, please feel free to reach out again if there are any other questions I can answer for you about the audiobook production or marketing process.
