First: Edit the Performance

Before uploading your chapter for processing, remove the things that require human editing:

• Recording mistakes
• Repeated sentences or words
• Unwanted filler words
• False starts
• Sections you do not want in the final narration

Once those are removed, you do NOT need to spend hours manually processing every technical issue one by one.

That is where this workflow begins.

The Fast Audiobook Processing Workflow

1. Upload Your Edited Recording to Auphonic

Take your edited but otherwise unprocessed audiobook chapter and upload it to Auphonic.

Inside the workshop, I show you how to create and configure an Auphonic preset for audiobook processing.

Auphonic can handle much of the technical processing, including:

• RMS/loudness
• Peak level
• Noise floor
• Background noise
• Breath reduction
• Level consistency

Instead of manually adjusting multiple effects for every chapter, you can let Auphonic handle much of this automatically.

2. Process With a Few Clicks

Select the preset and process the chapter.

Auphonic analyzes the recording and handles the main processing for you, even when different chapters have inconsistent recording levels.

You do not have to spend hours adjusting compression, normalization, noise reduction, and other effects chapter by chapter.

3. Download the Processed Chapter

Once Auphonic finishes, download the file.

4. Use iZotope RX for Remaining Cleanup

Auphonic can reduce some clicks and other problems, but for better cleanup I show you how to use iZotope RX.

• Other cleanup problems
